NZ College of Chiropractic

The problem

The College of Chiropractic is the only chiropractic college in New Zealand and needed a way to assess students in a manner that was both accurate and efficient, while at the same time staying in line with the legal requirements around record storage.

The solution

We worked in collaboration with the New Zealand College of Chiropractic to create a cloud based portal that allows mentors (Clinicians) to educate and assess interns whilst also providing formative feedback and storing data for future reference and moderation.

Interns benefited from its ease of use and rapid feedback. Assessments can be returned within minutes of the patient visit, aiding in the interns reflective practice. The college benefits form a paperless system and no secondary data entry, saving valuable administration time.

The ability to extract data about mentor performance was an unexpected outcome of the software.

The original system

Before 2016 the system to manage Chiropractic Centre assessments (critiques) was paper-based. It was time-consuming, and intern feedback was often delayed. This method required considerable administration time and cost, entering and filing forms.

Now this digital system is being used to complete the 7500 critiques, saving considerable administration time and cost with no secondary data entry and returning feedback to interns within minutes.

steps

Previously a 6 step paper based process. Now it's a 3 step digital process.

A critique used to take 1-2 weeks to complete and now takes just 10 minutes.
